The Salvation Army Founder The Penitent Form created by William Booth has the same meaning and role as the Altar of Burnt mentioned in the Old Testament. It means to change one's mind to renounce the sins of the past, to revolve around the old sin, and to transfigure, as the meteorologist (μετανοω) to repent in the New Testament Acts 3:19, 8:22). Repentance is the repentance of one's sin (Matthew 27: 3, Luke 15: 17-18) and regret (2 Corinthians 7: 8,10, Matthew 21: 28-29) it means. When Jesus first proclaimed the gospel, he told them to repent (Matthew 4:17, Mark 1:15). When the apostles preached the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Savior, they cried out to repent (Acts 3:19, 20:21, 26:20). This means changing mind, repentance, and conversion.

The Salvation Army Officer also covenant under the Salvation Army Blood & Fire flag, symbolizing the Trinity God, in the sight of many witnesses before being appointed Officer.

"Called by God to proclaim the gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as an officer of the Salvation Army"

Therefore, follow the example of Jesus (Luke 11:32, John 16: 8) and the apostles (Romans 2: 4, Acts 5: 30-31, Acts 11:18, 2 Timothy 2: 24-25) We must bear in mind that when we do, we are meant to proclaim the gospel of repentance.

In the Old Testament, the concept of repentance is called the Shwe (שׁוּב). (Isaiah 53: 6) Repent! Rather than mourning inwardly! Turn from your idols and renounce all your detestable practices. The turn around of the face uses an exotic expression (1 Kings 8:47, Ezekiel 14: 6, 18:30). The Penitent Form in German means "a tool to repent."

Penitent Forms should be simple and usable in nature. Orders and Regulations for Corps Officers of The Salvation Army said, "If it seems to be precious and worthwhile if it is related to sin, you should immediately quit. Otherwise, no one can help. "I explained the specific meaning of repentance.

Conversion means "the principle that rules life is turning from egoism to altruistic love. This means that a new relationship is established due to changes in life. Evidence of life changes (Matthews 3: 8), good works (Acts 26:20), damages and remedies (Luke 19: 8)

In the Salvation Army, the Penitent Form means a place where a sinner kneels before God and confesses his sins, and atonement and salvation. This was called the Penitent Form or Mercy Seat by the Salvation Army after Samuel L. Brengle arranged the term as a flat chair on the front of the Salvation Army, where everyone could see clearly. John Wesley also got inspired at any rally and confessed men and women on the spot. After that, we used "Penitent Form" as a "place of controversy" in the Methodist tent assembly.

The evangelist Charles G. Finney said, "The Penitent Form, the Mercy Seat, or the" Place for the Sufferer "is a specially designed seat or place for investigators to contemplate, pray, and relieve their anxiety and mental suffering.

William Booth has invited people from the early days of his ministry to repent without using the Penitent Form, such as a consultation room, to come to God while many see him. He used a large drum in the Penitent Form at the time of the preaching, and at the time of the tent assembly he put them in front of the congregation, preparing the chairs and tables for the congregation to see what they were doing, It could be a Penitent Form. Some of the earliest followers have resigned from the Salvation Army because they are resentful because they confess in their vacant seat without using the "private room." The Penitent Form is not a supplement because it is the foundation of our ministry. The Salvation Army did not start with a band, military uniform, or a pension lodge, but began with the Penitent Form. Some people object because Jesus did not use this method. However, since the Salvation Army has made more progress in the way that we have appreciated the value of the Penitent Form when we think about how much it has been gained, and how we have confessed the investigator in the vacations to this day, I am using a monument which is staying.

The Salvation Army Founder William Booth mentioned repentance and faith as conditions of salvation.

1. Convictions of sin (Genesis 42:21, Psalms 39: 4, 51: 4).

2. Hatred of sin (Ezekiel 6: 8,19).

3. Sorrow for sin or contrition (Psalms 38:18, Matthew 26:75, 2 Corinthians 7:10).

4. Renunciation of sin (Job 34:32, Isaiah 55: 7, Ezekiel 18: 30-31).

5. Confession of sin (Luke 15:21, Proverbs 28:13).

6. The desire for forgiveness (Psalms 25:11, 51: 1, Luke 18:13).

7. Submission to God (Acts 22:10, 2 Chronicles 30: 8).

8. Willingness to make restitution (Luke 19: 8, Numbers 5: 7).

William Booth said repentance comes before forgiveness.

We do not use the Penitent Form as an adjunct with other denominations.

First, it is our altar. The most sacred offerings and sacrifices were there. It is non-biblical to decorate the pulpit with pollen or so-called temple flower arrangements.

Second, it is used as a place to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Here the Holy Spirit came upon the Soldiers, and with the cleansing blood of Jesus their sins were atoned for, and the souls cleansed.

Third, this is where friendship is restored. This is where the disconnected part of The Salvation Army continues, where there is no awkwardness or sadness, and there is cooperation.

Fourth, the Penitent Form is an important place to penitence. Because the souls on the Penitent Form dedicate themselves to God and proclaim sin and suffering to receive the renewal of the divine covenant of Heavenly Father.

And the Salvation Army uses the Penitent Form as a method of evangelism is a newborn cradle with the Salvation Army Soldiers. The first mankind of the seeker of salvation is to bring the Lord Jesus Christ in the center of his life instead of self. Among the Salvation Army Soldiers is the Salvation Army Officer for World Mission.

The Penitent Form is open to anyone at any time. It is a place where anyone can kneel in any place and find God when they desire God's salvation. That is the Penitent Form. The Salvation Army continues to use the same method today because they are saved for those who are at the edge of the brink and because they are dedicated to God for this ministry and lead others to Christ. Therefore, anywhere in the world, there is a Penitent Form like this. Here is where many people can meet God.

Repentance is deeply related to faith. Jesus emphasized repentance(μετανοέω) and believe in the Gospel(πιστεύω) (Mark 1:15). The emphasis on repentance is to believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God (John 20:31). The Gospel of John emphasizes faith, and the apostle Paul also said that he was saved through faith in Jesus (Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8-9). Repentance and faith are like two sides of a coin. The Hebrew writer also told us to repent of God and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ (Hebrews 6:1). It was said to abandon idols(repent) and return to God (faith) and serve God(worship).
